Gainfully employed.

Hello my lovelies!

How have you been?  I’ve been really well! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA as of late but good news! It’s because I got a job (yay!) and I have finally joined the ranks of the gainfully employed! I had several days of training and for the past few weeks I’ve been working at an awesome clothing store that I’ll call Indi for the sake of anonymity. It is fabulous. I’m totally drinking the Kool-Aid, but for serious, it’s great. I got my

first paycheck today and so I decided to do some damage and bought a new pair of shoes for work. Conveniently, my work wardrobe needs to be fashion forward so these shoes are a win-win purchase! They are the Steve Madden ‘Annnie’ Wedge Bootie (which is strangely appropriate, since I used to go by the moniker “Annie”). Who knows why there are three letter “n”s in it though. Anyway, how freaking cute?! I’m imagining them with a pair of black skinny pants or with tights and a dress/skirt. Anything really that is fitted at the ankle.

It’s funny, I feel like I’ve always had decently good taste, but now with this job I need to look presentable/super awesome every time I work. Which is good. It holds me accountable and doesn’t let me be lazy with my clothing. It’s teaching me how to dress. I know that sounds ridiculous, but when you are the one doling out the fashion advice, you have to rep it yourself. For example Indi is all about the “third piece” so I have to make sure that I don’t just wear pants and a top, but instead I wear pants and a top and a blazer or pants and a top and a statement necklace. It is some seriously excellent life-skills kind of training. Like balancing a checkbook. But prettier and more useful. Anyway, I just wanted to let you two (hahaha) know why I’ve been absent. But don’t worry, now that I’m in the groove with work and everything, I’ll be more regular about posting.

p.s. Remember the post where I told you all the things I wanted to buy as soon as I got a job? Well I don’t think I’m going to invest in the desk right now (I’ll buy it when I’m in a long term lease I think), but I’ve already  ordered the Allure by Chanel perfume! I couldn’t help myself. It’s a necessity, methinks. 

wordpress logged me out.

I hate it when wordpress logs me out. It’s like a personal attack-a very visible reminder that I haven’t been doing my job properly, or at least often enough. It’s like wordpress is saying “get the fuck out of here. you don’t even care about me.” or something.

I guess I haven’t been posting very much because my life feels so dull right now as I’m jobsearching and I put this pressure on myself to not write a stupid post. I’m still trying to live down the shame of the post I wrote about a year ago after my iHome broke. Either way, it’s no excuse. I’ll be more diligent. I promise.
