il y a deux ans…

2 Sep

August 29th, 2009 I boarded a plane to France from the Dulles Airport. And now it is September 2nd, 2011. Two years have gone by. I spent one of the most amazing years of my life in Rennes and made such incredible friends. I returned to the US and after a year of hard work, I graduated with honors from DU. And now I am embarking on a new and very scary adventure called “real life.”

How is it that so much time has passed and so many life-changing things have happened? I miss it so much. How do I go back? Take me there.

I’m A Sick Kitten

10 Feb

Girl’s sick. Again. Whats with this France?! Get ur shiz together and put me on the healthy train!!

I have an infection in my tonsils. How the eff does that happen?! haha This morning I went to the SIMPPs (the health center at Rennes II) straight away and was the first person there…waiting until they unlocked the doors lol.  The nurse then told me that I needed to go to the doctor TODAY, which I did the earliest she was available, which was at 10:20 and by 10:40 I had left “la pharmacie” with some serious drugs.  Here is my regimen:

2 pills of Josacine, twice a day, for six days

1 or 2 pills of Paracétamol three times a day as needed, but not to exceed 6 pills daily

1 grande cuillère (one big spoonful) of Alfa-Amylase three times a day

Awesome. Who even knows what these meds are…but hopefully they do their job :) I keep comforting myself with the knowledge that at least I’m on the path to recovery…(I sound like a drug addict in rehab lol)

Wish me luck!!

we’re so fairytale..

so i’ve just decided to go to Paris tomorrow.

and when i say “just decided” I mean like literally 5 minutes ago I decided. to be honest, i have no idea why im going- other than i feel like getting out of Rennes and Dylan is celebrating his birthday in Paris! haha i should really stay in Rennes and move from my current dorm into the new dorm building across the hall this weekend, but since I have from the 4th to the 10th to make the transition I’m going to use all of it and party it up in Paris in the meantime.

However. this last minute trip means one thing, and one thing only for tonight:

to-do list.

dun. dun. dun….

1. pick up my shit.

2. pack for paris.

3. pack room slightly (i.e. start to pack up my shiz for the big move).

4. write some letters (two down so far!).

5. deal with all my email/ DU credit approvals etc.

6. eat dinner.

7. wash dishes.

8. make sweet love to paolo nutini. <3

And there you have it.

that is my plan for ce soir. i lead a riveting life, i know. teehee.

xxo bisous
