SPAIN.

Yep.  That’s right. I’m going there. Tomorrow. Actually, I’m going to Paris tomorrow, crashing at Emily’s, and then flying out the next morning, but who cares.  I’ll be in sunny spain soon!!!

It’s midterm break so I’m going on a trip with my friend Alyse and we’re meeting up with our mutual friend Jessie in Sevilla and then we’re going to see my friend Martin in Barcelona :) I’m so excited!! As you can tell by the photo on the left, Alyse and I always have lots of fun together & I predict that the same will be true during the next week.

The scary thing though, is that I’ll be living out of a backpack for a WEEK!! I don’t know about you, but this is an intimidating prospect… I’m going to need lots of luck…and clean underwear. If anyone has tips on how to pack lightly, I would love to hear them. Feel free to post in the comment box below. I’ll tell you all about my adventures when I get back to Rennes, but in the meantime, don’t expect much- or anything- of me.

I promise I’ll take pictures- and more importantly that I’ll actually upload them after the trip.

Put Your Best Foot Forward!

19 Jan

I haven’t been feeling very fashionable lately.  You might remember that I twisted my ankle in November when I was descending a staircase during a rainstorm.  The stairs were wet, and one thing led to another.  Anyway, the swelling on my ankle went down after a few days, for the most part, and I thought it was on its way to healing.  Nope!  About a month later I was still having some pretty sharp pains whenever I tried to put on high heels and so I went to a general practitioner in Rennes who told me to get some X-Rays, which I did and apparently I didn’t break anything.  Unfortunately, since this appointment, I have been stuck wearing “une attelle” (a brace) and the most hideous New Balance running shoes to give it extra support.  Don’t get me wrong, my NBs are absolutely excellent for running, which is why I brought them to France, not for daily wear.  To make matters worse, they squeak with every step I take.  Anyway. I think thats the whole point of this blog post. To share my misery. No matter how cute my outfit is, the shoes and brace make it look like I’m a 45 year old soccer mom.  I guess I should just be happy that I don’t have to wear khakis, too.  Anyway.  I’m hoping i’ll be healed soon, so I can bring out the heels ;)

wish me luck! xxo

Today is a Sad Day

Reason #1.

The “S” key fell off my keyboard, leaving me to use a funny plastic nipple looking thing.

Reason #2.

I most certainly sprained my ankle (for the first time ever!) last night.  Its not blue so I’m thinking thats a good thing, but it is pretty puffy, which definitely isn’t a good thing.  I’m going to get it checked out tomorrow and in the mean time I’m trying to keep it elevated but I can’t ice it because I don’t have a freezer!!  What horrible luck.  It didn’t even happen in an interesting way- I just stepped wrong going down some steps and landed on my ankle instead of my foot.  Wish me luck.
